Oklahoma golfer earns new car for ace

ADA, Oklahoma -- Hitting a hole-in-one is one of the most thrilling moments one can experience on the golf course.

It doesn't matter if you're just playing a round with friends, competing in a charity event or battling in the U.S. Open. When the ball finds its way into the hole from the tee box, it's an unforgettable experience.

Local golfer Wyatt Robson surely won't ever forget the hole-in-one he made last weekend at a member-guest tournament at the Oak Hills Golf and Country Club. His ace came with an added bonus -- a brand-new car.

"It was the No. 9 hole, right by the swimming pool," Robson said. "It was pretty crazy stuff."

Robson used his pitching wedge for the 158-yard shot.

It turned out to be a family affair. His playing partner was his father, Todd Robson. His brother, Will Robson, was in town for the day and tagged along to cheer for the Robson team.

"I was playing with my dad and my brother had driven down from four hours away just for a day and a half, so I guess it was just all meant to be. I'm still in shock since it was for a car," Robson said.

He picked up his 2016 Nissan Maxima on Tuesday from the local dealership.

Also witnessing the incredible moment were Brad Durr and John Hayes.

It was the second career hole-in-one for Robson, who helped lead the 2013 Ada High golf to to a state championship.

"It's the craziest thing I've ever experienced," he said.

It's something he'll always remember.
