Rust? What rust?

Rory McIlory is playing in his first event since Jan. 15 due to a hairline rib fracture, but has shown little signs of being out of practice this week at the WGC-Mexico Championship.

He was one stroke out of the lead after the first round, and he has continued the strong performance in Round 2 on Friday.

Coming off a birdie on the par-3 13th hole, Rory blasted a 331-yard drive into the fairway on the par-4 14th. From 152 yards out, Rory hit a shot pin high to the left of the pin before the ball took an immediate right turn and found the bottom of the cup for an eagle and the tournament lead.

It's the second eagle on a par 4 McIlroy has hit in the past 6 months. The previous eagle came in dramatic fashion on the 16th hole at East Lake to propel him to win the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup last fall.
