The conclusion of the first major of 2013 is also the start of the points race for the 2014 U.S. Ryder Cup team. The only events in which points are awarded this season, in fact, are the majors; weekly points will begin accumulating next season.

One point is awarded for every $1,000 a player won in the 2013 majors. Every eligible American who made the cut at the Masters, a total of 27, earned some points, and you can see the complete list and qualification rules here. And remember, the top nine points-getters automatically make the team, then Captain Tom Watson will make three captain’s picks.

Here is the inaugural top 10, based on their finish at the Masters:

1. Tiger Woods 352.000
2. Brandt Snedeker 278.000
3. Matt Kuchar 232.000
4. John Huh 192.000
5. Fred Couples 145.600
6. Dustin Johnson 145.600
7. David Toms 145.600
8. Nick Watney 145.600
9. Jason Dufner 89.920
10. Bill Haas 89.920
