What's the quirkiest thing you've seen on a golf course?

If you play enough golf, you're bound to see some crazy, quirky, or even scary things on the course.

For me, one particular run-in comes to mind...

Playing a course in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, with a buddy just before sunset a few summers back, we encountered a small coyote.

That's not uncommon in the northeast, but what was uncomfortable was the fact that this coyote pretty much walked three holes watching us play, eyes locked in -- particularly on me, it felt like.

Since we were no where close to the clubhouse and we were walking, there was really no place to go.

So, we went about our business, very aware of the coyote, but trying our best not to make eye contact, making the coyote feel threatened.

Once we finished, it became clear that the coyote was just a fan of watching lousy golf. A big time relief.

So what's the strangest or quirkiest thing you've seen on a golf course?

That's the question we posed to our hundreds of thousands of friends in PGA.com Facebook Nation. As usual, you delivered with some great answers. Here's a collection of our favorites. Click the Facebook logo in the top-right corner of each comment to open a new page to expand the post.
