SYDNEY, Australia -- Australia's Anthony Brown birdied the second playoff hole Sunday to win the New South Wales Open from New Zealander Josh Geary.

Brown started the day three shots off the lead at Sydney's Stonecutters Ridge and shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 14-under par, tied with Geary who shared the overnight lead with Australian James Nitties.

The 32-year-old Brown birdied the three par fives on the back nine and made a clutch birdie at 18 to hold the clubhouse lead until he was joined by Geary who had an even par final round.

The pair returned twice to the 18th to decide the Austaliasian PGA tournament. Both made birdies on the first playoff hole and Brown did so again on the second, claiming the title when Geary failed to get up and down from a greenside bunker.

Nitties finished third and U.S. amateur champion Yang Gunn fourth at 12-under.
