DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Meg Mallon shot a 3-under 69 on Saturday at Seagate to take a one-stroke lead over Danielle Ammaccapane in the LPGA Legends Tour's Walgreens Charity Championship.

"I was thinking, 'This was a nice start and let's just go from here,'" said Mallon, an 18-time LPGA Tour winner. "I didn't get ahead of myself and that's why I continued to play well."

Mallon made a 15-foot birdie putt on No. 18.

"I didn't think I had made that last putt, but fortunately, I did," Mallon said. "It was nice to end that way with a birdie."

Juli Inkster was two strokes back at 71 along with Pat Hurst, Alicia Dibos, Jenny Lidback and Marilyn Lovander.
