Rickie Fowler makes career-high nine birdies in final round of Quicken Loans National

Rickie Fowler was on fire Sunday from TPC Potomac.

Fowler, who entered the final round of the Quicken Loans National at even par, went to 1-over early on after a bogey on the fourth hole.

Then Fowler rallied, sinking six birdies in a seven hole span, climbing the Quicken Loans National leaderboard. Fowler began his attack on the par-4 seventh, with just a bogey on 11 sandwiched between the six birdies.

After a double-bogey ended the birdie run, Fowler answered with two more birdies in the last four holes, including ending his 72nd hole of the weekend one-under par.

Fowler entered the clubhouse at 5-under. It's a waiting game now, as he is one stroke behind the three-way tie atop the leaderboard. Stay tuned, we're in for an exciting finish. PGA.com will have updates and scores down the stretch.
