The perfect read or just plain luck?

Either way, John Peterson will take it.

Peterson entered the third round of the Wells Fargo Championship right amid the hunt at 5-under. After playing even par through the first eight holes of Saturday's action, Peterson bogied two of this next three holes. A bogey on 16 left Peterson falling to 2-under and further off Patrick Reed's lead.

Peterson found a way to get back on the right track on 17.

Reed -- whose memorable match with Rory McIlroy helped Team USA capture the 2016 Ryder Cup -- had a big Saturday, entering the clubhouse as the leader after a 5-under round. Peterson hopes that this birdie can turn things around and get him back up the leaderboard in tomorrow's finale.
