Purse: $6.9 million. Winner's share: $1,242,000.

 

Last year: South Korea's Seung-Yul Noh won his first PGA Tour title. Andrew Svoboda and Robert Streb tied for second, two strokes back.

 

Last week: Jim Furyk won the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head for his first PGA Tour title in five years, beating Kevin Kisner with a birdie on the second hole of a playoff. Furyk closed with an 8-under 63. Kisner shot a 64.

 

Notes: Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Justin Rose, 2013 champion Billy Horschel, Rickie Fowler and Steve Stricker are in the field. ... Shreveport resident David Toms is making his 22nd start in the event. The former LSU player won in 2001 at English Turn. ... The World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play is next week in San Francisco, followed by The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

SWINGING SKIRTS LPGA CLASSIC

 

Site: Daly City, California.

Schedule: Thursday-Sunday.

Course: Lake Merced Golf Club (6,507 yards, par 72).

Purse: $2 million. Winner's share: $300,000.

 

Last year: Lydia Ko won the first of her three 2014 titles, beating Stacy Lewis by a stroke.

 

Last week: Sei Young Kim won the Lotte Championship in Hawaii, holing out from 154 yards for eagle on the first hole of a playoff with Inbee Park. After driving into the water on No. 18 in regulation, Kim forced the playoff with an 18-foot chip-in for par. She also won this year in the Bahamas.

 

Notes: The top-ranked Ko is coming off a tie for 51st three weeks ago in the ANA Inspiration, the third-worst result of her tour career. She won in Australia in February for her sixth LPGA Tour title and took the Ladies European Tour event in New Zealand the following week. The 17-year-old New Zealander has made the cuts in all 49 of her LPGA Tour starts. ... U.S. Women's Amateur champion Kristen Gillman, a high school junior in Austin, Texas, is in the field. ... The North Texas Shootout is next week in Irving, Texas.

Courses: Big Cedar Lodge Resort, Top of the Rock (1,470 yards, par 27) and Buffalo Ridge (7,002 yards, par 72).

Purse: $2.8 million. Winners' shares: $210,000 per player.

 

Last year: Jeff Sluman and Fred Funk teamed to win at 20 under. Jim Colbert and Jim Thorpe won the Legends Division for players 65 and older.

 

Last week: Olin Browne won the Greater Gwinnett Championship in Georgia after rain forced the cancellation of the final round. Browne set the tournament record with a second-round 64.

 

Notes: Jack Nicklaus is teaming with Gary Player in the Legends Division. Nicklaus-designed Top of the Rock is the only par-3 course used in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. ... Sam Snead and Gardner Dickinson won the inaugural event in 1978 in Austin, Texas, sparking interest that led to the creation of the senior tour. ... The Insperity Invitational is next week in The Woodlands, Texas.

VOLVO CHINA OPEN

Schedule: Thursday-Sunday.

Course: Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club (7,296 yards, par 72).

Purse: $3.23 million. Winner's share: $540,000.

 

Last year: France's Alexander Levy won his first European Tour title, beating England's Tommy Fleetwood by four strokes at Genzon in Shenzhen.

 

Last week: Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat won the Shenzhen International at Genzon, topping Chinese teenager Li Haotong with a birdie on the first extra hole.

 

Notes: Aphibarnrat and the 19-year-old Li are in the field along with Guan Tian-lang, the 16-year-old Chinese player who made the cut at 14 in the 2013 Masters. ... The event also is sanctioned by the China Golf Association.

 

WEB.COM TOUR

Next event: United Leasing Championship, April 30-May 3, Victoria National Golf Club, Newburgh, Indiana.

 

Last week: Wes Roach won the El Bosque Mexico Championship for his first Web.com Tour title. Kevin Tway and Patton Kizzire tied for second, four strokes back.
