Golfers: Trade up your golf clubs to play better and give back

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (June 4, 2015) – Most golfers recognize that trading in their used clubs is a cost-effective means to upgrade into a new set of game-improvement equipment. Now, thanks to a special partnership between the PGA Trade-in Network and PGA REACH, trading up during the month of June will not only provide golfers an opportunity to shave points off their score cards, but it will also generate much-needed funds to support programming for Youth, Military and Diversity in Golf.

The PGA Trade-In Network will donate $1 for every trade-in taken in June, both online and in-person at more than 5,000 PGA-staffed pro-shops nationwide, all to benefit PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America dedicated to positively impacting the lives of veterans, youth and diverse populations through the game of golf.

Doug Smith, Vice President of Marketing for the PGA Trade-In Network, the official trade-in solution used by thousands of PGA Professionals in shops around the country and by consumers online at PGA.com/Value Guide, is excited about the partnership. “We are pleased to be able to help golfers tap the value of their trade-ins to not only improve their own game but also the lives of others who benefit from the work of PGA REACH,” Smith said.

“We are excited about this classic win-win situation,” said Scott Kmiec, PGA REACH Senior Director. “Golfers receive the full trade-in value of their used clubs towards new equipment that will increase their enjoyment of the game, and PGA REACH receives a contribution from the PGA Trade-In Network for every used club they receive. We hope golfers in mass will look to trade up in June, as it will not only benefit their own game, but also support the dynamic programming associated with PGA REACH.”

Golfers interested in utilizing this service can look up the value of their used clubs and find a PGA Trade-In Network location nearby by visiting PGA.com/Valueguide. The website also offers an alternative online trade-in solution where golfers can ship their own used clubs to the PGA Trade-In Network and receive an additional 10 percent for their trade-ins in a gift certificate redeemable at 5,000 PGA Professional staffed facilities nationwide.

Additionally, golfers may choose to “pay it forward” by opting to donate their used clubs instead of trading them in, in which case the full trade-in amount would directly benefit PGA Reach. Ask your local PGA Professional for details.
