PGA Vice President Suzy Whaley Opens plays at the Inaugural U.S. Senior Women’s Open

PGA Vice President Suzy Whaley made history again this week when she became part of the 120 player field that is competing in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women’s Open this week at Chicago Golf Club.

“It’s incredibly exciting,” Whaley said in her press conference earlier this week. “It shows the golf business is evolving, that women’s golf is evolving as well. I certainly have a passion for that with the PGA of America. It’s a moment of time I’m thrilled to be a part of.”

Whaley earned her way into the field through sectional qualifying, earning one of five spots available at The Olympic Club outside San Francisco.

Whaley opened her U.S. Senior Women’s Open with a 77 to sit in a tie for 29th and will begin her second round at 7:11 a.m. CDT.
