2013 PGA Winter Championships
The PGA Winter Championships is a six-event series for PGA members played over the first six weeks of 2013 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.  They are presented by Premier Golf, United Rentals and Hospital for Special Surgery and supported by Jacobsen, Golf Pride and Dryrainge.

PGA Quarter Century Championship
Jan. 3-4

Robert Thompson of Huntsville, Texas, and two former Chicago area PGA professionals earned top honors at PGA Golf Club. Thompson, 55, PGA teaching professional at Whispering Pines Golf Club, was the low scorer among age groups 49 and younger through 60-64 on the Ryder Course, finishing at 11 under par 133 on rounds of 67-66. He won the 2010 Senior PGA Professional National Championship and played on the Champions Tour in 2009-10.

PGA Senior Stroke Play Championship
Jan. 8-10

J.C. Anderson and James Mason took different routes to win their Senior Stroke Play titles. Anderson, 51, a PGA instructor at Mid Rivers Golf Links in St. Peters, Mo., was the winner by a stroke for the younger age groups, while Mason, a PGA teaching professional at Orchard Golf Club in Clarksville, Ga., won by seven shots in the older age groups.

PGA Senior-Junior Team Championship
Jan. 14-17

Four years of conversation was turned into a victory for Rick Schuller of Chester, Va., and Bob Sowards of Dublin, Ohio. The duo trailed by three shots after both the first and second rounds, then trimmed their deficit to one heading into the final round before rallying to win by a shot.

PGA Women's Stroke Play Championship
Jan. 28-30

Ashley Grier of Hagerstown, Md., won the title by a comfortable six-stroke margin over first-round leader Karen Paolozzi of Twinsburg, Ohio. Grier began the final day with a six-stroke edge and matched Paolozzi's final-round 72 on the Ryder Course.

PGA Stroke Play Championship
Jan. 28-31

Bob Sowards of Dublin, Ohio, was tied with Frank Bensel of Purchase, N.Y., and Tim Weinhart of Johns Creek, Ga., after three rounds at PGA Golf Club, then shot a final-round 68 to claim the title by a shot over Bensel on the Ryder Course.

PGA Match Play Championship
Feb. 4-8

Since 1964, the Match Play Championship has been part of the PGA Winter Championships. The starting field will be limited to 64 players, with the 2012 champion receiving the No. 1 seed. A stroke-play qualifying round will be played to establish the 63 players who will advance to the match-play bracket and their seeds.
