PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – In a three-year agreement, Malinalli Tequila was named today as the “Official Tequila” and “Official Margarita” of the PGA of America, PGA Championship, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. Malinalli Tequila was also designated as an “Official Supplier” of the PGA Championship.
The partnership includes the creation of Malinalli Tequila branded mixed drinks for each Championship, as well as concession branding onsite. In addition, Malinalli Tequila will create co-branded promotions for PGA Professionals to use during special events at golf facilities across the country.
“The PGA of America is delighted to partner with Malinalli Tequila to deliver its line of signature spirits at the PGA’s major spectator championships,” said PGA of America Chief Revenue Officer Kevin Ring. “Malinalli Tequila is a premium brand that aligns with the PGA’s commitment to provide superior quality products at our high-profile events.”
Malinalli Tequila’s three award-winning lines of premium tequila are Malinalli Blanco, Malinalli Añejo and Malinalli Extra Añejo. Known for its extremely smooth taste and finish, Malinalli Tequila is named in honor of a formidable woman who played a key role in Mexican history in the early 1500s. Malinalli helped save thousands of lives by enabling negotiations, rather than battles, and helped free many native tribes and city states from the domination of the Aztec Empire. Keeping true to traditional production methods which originated in Malinalli’s time, the company’s tequila starts with prime agave, grown on the same family estate that has yielded some of the region’s finest for 100 years.
“Malinalli Tequila is proud to be partnering with the PGA of America and looks forward to the tremendous opportunities and relationships that will result from our partnership over the next several years,” said Ken Faith, CFO and Director of Malinalli Tequila. “The PGA of America and its nearly 29,000 PGA Professionals represent the very best that golf has to offer, and we are excited that our ultra-premium tequilas and margaritas will be introduced at the PGA’s major championships, as well as at golf clubs around the country in 2020.”
