Congratulations to Darren Clarke this year's British Open champion. I always enjoy the media coverage the week or two leading up to the British Open. For many of us the style of golf that it takes to win the British Open is truly different.

A Lesson Learned: Be aggressive and play the miss in fairway bunkers
Steve Stricker wins the John Deere Classic. This is not a repeat from last year. Or the year before. Congratulations to Stricker for his third straight title - and what a way to do it, back-to-back birdies on the final two holes to storm back and win!

A Lesson Learned: Seeing your putting improve
Nick Watney’s recipe for success at the AT&T National included some amazing feats. One was in the third round setting a course record of 62, having two bogeys and beating the record by two shots. Another was having a bogey free round of 66 on the final day.

A Lesson Learned: Bouncing back from golf disaster
So this week we saw PGA Tour player Kevin Na shoot 80 in the first round of the Valero Texas Open. A tour pro shooting 80 is surprising, but not unheard of. But Na shot 80 after he made a 16 – yes, a 16, on the par four ninth hole.

In the 75 years that there has been a Masters, you’d be hard-pressed to find one that had more drama and excitement among such a large group of players as this past one.

So it looks like we may have a prohibitive favorite going into Augusta! Nevermind that Phil Mickelson already has three green jackets, his play this past week in Houston says he is primed to go for his fourth.
