FGLC Fall League
The 14U Fall PGA Jr League at Family Golf and Learning Center will start on Wednesday 8/26. Practices will be on Wednesdays throughout the season (8/26, 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, and 10/7). All practices are 55 min in length. The driving range will be closed this fall for a full renovation. The short game area, wedge practice range, putting greens, and the golf course will all be areas we will utilize at the weekly practices. Once registered, copy this link to your browser and register for your desired practice time https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/1132772736028/true#/invitation. Please put your child's name on the practice sign up form. Practice times are 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00. We do our best to process all team player pairing requests, but requests made after 8/1 might not be accepted as we must get the schedule officially posted in a timely manner. Matches for some teams will start on 8/29. Teams will play matches on Saturdays at 8:00 AM or 10:00 AM. All teams will have a combination of those match times. Teams will play one match per week during the season. All teams will have 7 matches. \-Expert Coaching: Behind each and every PGA Jr. League team is a PGA Coach providing a safe, caring and organized environment for every child to become (and stay) a golfer. These experts in the game are provided with flexibility to create a coaching program that works best for their players and families. \-Teams with Friends: Easily one of the best parts of PGA Jr. League is the team component! All kids will be a part of a team that may consist 10-12 players. \-League Play: At FGLC, we run an in-house league. These in-house leagues include multiple teams that practice and play and practice at our facility each week. \-The PGA Jr. League Format: Each team is broken down into two or three-person pairs who play together in games. All PGA Jr. League games are played in a scramble format. This means that each players on the team hit drives. The best shot is selected, then each player plays from the selected spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed. The scramble format is key in allowing everyone to hit shots and contribute to the team. PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, which focuses on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf. Within a PGA Jr. League game, pairs play in a head-to-head, 9-hole match. Each match is broken into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row, and each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag.
