As the calendar turns to the dog days of summer, competition amongst the nation’s elite juniors is just heating up – with plenty at stake. Competitors will vie for a coveted spot on the Junior Ryder Cup Team come Aug. 9
An elite field of 156 players – 78 boys vying for the Jack Nicklaus Trophy and 78 girls competing for the Patty Berg Trophy – will tee it up at Wannamoisett, a distinct Donald Ross par-69 layout (par-71 for the girls in the field) that is steeped in amateur golf heritage.
Elizabeth Wang of San Marino, California, needed an extra hole to win the Girls' Division, while Brad Dalke of Hobart, Oklahoma, emerged from a two-hole playoff to claim the Boys' Division at Miramont CC.
