Kennedy opens three-shot lead after 54 holes in New Zealand Open

Australian Brad Kennedy shot a 4-under-68 on Saturday to take a three-shot lead into the final round of the New Zealand Open.

Kennedy had eight birdies and four bogeys as he broke out of a three-way tie for the overnight lead. He had a 54-hole total of 9-under 207.

New Zealander Josh Geary shot 71 to be 6-under after three rounds. The other overnight leader, Australian veteran Craig Parry, had a 73 to fall back into a three-way tie for fourth.

Australia’s Terry Pildarkis shot 69 to move into sole possession of third place at 5 under.
