Creating Memories on the Golf Course

Are you looking for a way to spend time with your kids?  Quality time.  Active time.  Outdoor time.  Talking time.

How are you spending time with your kids now and does it really allow you to connect with them?  Don’t get me wrong.  Sometimes cuddling on the couch with your spouse and kids, watching a movie about a certain boy-wizard and munching on freshly made popcorn is a perfect way to spend an afternoon.  However, how much talking happens?  In fact, if two of you start a conversation, the other two may shoot you a cautionary look.

Spending time on the golf course with family is the perfect way to open up the lines of communication.  Celebrate each other’s great shots with a high five and console each other poor ones.  Most importantly, make it fun by following the rules when you want and stretching them at other times.  You want to quit after 6 holes and head to the 19th Hole for a sports drink?  Sure!  Play a scramble (best shot format) for two holes or the entire round.  Or just head to the local municipal golf course and borrow their putting green for your own version of mini-golf.

Share your next round of golf with your spouse, kids, or adopt a kid for the day.  It may be the most fun you have had in a while.
