How much are Charl Schwartzel's wedges worth?

Charl Schwartzel won the Valspar Championship on Sunday with a spectacular final round in which he came from five shots back at the start of the day to catch third-round leader Bill Haas and then win the title in a playoff. Schwartzel's final-round 67 over the tough Copperhead Course was 5.2 shots better than the field's scoring average.

The strength of Schwartzel's game at Innisbrook was his approach game – he ranked 53rd in Strokes Gained Driving and 12th in Strokes Gained Putting, but was third in Strokes Gained on Approach Shots – the shots he hit with his new Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons and old reliable VR Forged wedges into the greens were what separated him from his challengers.

The VR Forged wedges are made from soft 1025 carbon steel designed to deliver exceptional feel. They feature Nike's X3X grooves, which have a aggressive edges and deeper channels to improve their stopping power. The X3X grooves also are designed to retain their performance over a longer lifespan than previous models.

These wedges are available in three different grind models – a Dual Wide grind that lowers bounce, a Dual Narrow grind that has higher bounce and extreme heel relief, and a Standard grind that is the most versatile for all turf conditions.

The Nike VR Forged wedges made their debut at retail in 2013 with a suggested retail price of $129 per club. They currently have an estimated trade-in value of $14.13 and an estimated resale value of $40.37 per club, according to the PGA.com Value Guide and Trade-in Network.
