How much is Jimmy Walker's pitching wedge worth?

Published on

Jimmy Walker won the Valero Texas Open on Sunday for his fifth PGA Tour victory in his last 37 starts over the past 18 months. Over that time, he has switched in a new driver, fairway wood, lob wedge, sand wedge and even putter. But in his bag for each and every one of those victories: His Titleist MB 714 irons and Titleist Vokey SM4 pitching wedge.

Walker switched his lob and sand wedges to the fifth-generation Vokey SM5 models after they debuted last year, but has stuck with the SM4 pitching wedge. It was introduced in 2012 with a suggested retail price of $145 per club.

Designed by Titleist craftsman extraordinaire Bob Vokey, the SM4 boasts spin-milled (the SM stands for spin-milled) grooves that were entirely re-engineered from previous models and scorelines on the face that are spaced tighter than ever. The clubheads feature a teardrop profile and sole designs taken straight from Vokey's tour grinds.

The SM4 pitching wedge currently has an estimated trade-in value of $23.24 and an estimated resale value of $46.48, according to the PGA.com Value Guide and Trade-in Network.
