Jordan Spieth makes long birdie chip from off No. 3 green
Jordan Spieth is the defending Open champion. On Friday, his defense included what could be the shot of the day, at least so far.
Spieth was off the green on hole No. 3 yet somehow chipped in for birdie, getting a perfect bounce off the mound before the shot rolled in for a birdie.
Spieth finished 1-over in the first round on Thursday, five shots back of leader Kevin Kisner. With his long chip on No. 3 on Friday, Spieth got back to even.
Last year, Spieth finished 12-under, three shots ahead of Matt Kuchar. The win gave Spieth a win in his third different major, leaving him only the PGA Championship away from the career grand slam.
