Watch LPGA and LET stars go Happy Gilmore style in the tee box at the Ladies Scottish Open
LPGA and Ladies European Tour players had some fun before Round 3 teed off at the Scottish Open at the Gullane Golf Club. Stars such as Michelle Wie and Beth Allen channeled their inner Happy Gilmore to see just who could drive the ball farther.
Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler's hockey-loving, golf-swinging character from the 1996 movie of the same name, had a unique swing all his own. While his approach, one that combined a hockey slap shot and plenty of gusto, may have turned out to be a burden on the PGA Tour in the 1996 film, the women of the Scottish Open took his talents to Gullane in a fun challenge.
Watch as they tee off on the 389-yard, par-4, sixth-hole, charging at the ball and unloading in true Happy Gilmore style, throwing in some of the classic quotes that make the movie a fan favorite. Turns out the swing is a bit harder than it looks, even for pros.
Here's a great way to start your Saturday!
