Calling a round of golf for a broadcast is an art, and announcers such as Dan Hicks and Jim Nantz do a masterful job of bringing insight and descriptions to what we're watching at home.

We recently looked at some of the greatest golf calls of all time. You can check those out here.

But if you were wondering how these guys warm up for their day in the booth, it turns out they also hit the range.

Prior to the first round of the Valspar Championship, Dan Hicks and longtime caddie for Bubba Watson, Ted Scott, had some fun out on "a par-3" where Ted Scott was using a 6-iron and had not hit a green in regulation all day.

Roger Maltbie gets in on the action and Scott proceeds to warn the entire "gallery" that his shot is going both right and left.

Well done, fellas. Makes us wish we could get a call like this for all of our shots. At least a bad shot would feel epic before having to search for it in the woods.
