WATCH: Jon Rahm holes out for eagle en route to Irish Open win
Jon Rahm had himself a day at Portstewart Golf Club in Northern Ireland.
The 22-year-old rookie (yes, a reminder that he's still in his first full year as a professional) began the day tied for the lead at the Irish Open and put his foot on the gas pedal early in his round to separate from the pack.
A hole out for eagle from 150 yards on the par-4 fourth hole sure helped.
Rahm found himself playing from the rough throughout the round, but managed to escape trouble in impressive fashion. This adventure for par was an early test that he passed with flying colors.
Then, up by four strokes heading into the par-5 14th, this eagle sealed the deal and left no doubt that Rahm would be earning his first European Tour victory.
It's his second overall professional win, his first coming at Torrey Pines and the Farmers Insurance Open back in January.
