ORLANDO, Fla., July 7, 2017 – Golf Channel and NBC’s coverage of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – the LPGA Tour’s second major of 2017 – delivered record viewership for the networks. Sunday’s final round was the most-watched telecast at this event on record (2006-2017) – 840,000 average viewers (+1% YOY, +21% over 2015) – which saw Danielle Kang win her first LPGA Tour event over defending champion Brooke Henderson with a birdie on the final hole to win by one.

Saturday’s third round on NBC was the most-watched round 3 telecast at this event on record (2006-2017) with 736,000 average viewers (+14% YOY), also the most-watched round 3 telecast of a women’s golf event since the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open on NBC.

MOST-VIEWED FOR EVENT EVER: In total, more than 6.5 million unique viewers tuned in to Golf Channel and NBC’s coverage of the KPMG Women’s Championship (+8% YOY), the largest total viewership of this event on record (2006-2017).

NBC SPORTS GROUP’S 2017 MARQUEE LPGA EVENTS: In addition to the LPGA Tour season on Golf Channel, two marquee events are coming to Golf Channel and NBC – the RICOH Women’s British Open, Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 3-6 and the Solheim Cup, Friday-Sunday, Aug. 18-20. Additionally, the Senior LPGA Championship will air on Golf Channel next week, Monday-Wednesday, July 10-12.

The exclusive cable home of the LPGA Tour, Golf Channel has coverage of four of five women’s major championships in 2017, with three majors airing on NBC: the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, RICOH Women’s British Open and The Evian Championship. The 2017 Solheim Cup, the biennial match play event, is returning to network television for the first time in 15 years with the final day airing on NBC.
