Nick Faldo joined the Dan Patrick Show live from the Pebble Beach driving range Thursday morning and explained the biggest tip he had for those looking to improve their golf game is to focus on tempo.
The six-time major winner and 2008 Ryder Cup Europe captain, said to imagine the swing/temp of your favorite player, say their name out loud, then swing the club like that person.
Faldo exquisitely described the shots -- soft fade, tiny draw -- before executing them, which was terrific.
Then he told Patrick, "If you want to be like Rory McIlroy and hit it over a lake, say, 'Rory McIlroy,' then hit it over that lake. And if it goes in the lake..." Faldo proceeded to helicopter toss the club in the range, similar to what McIlroy did into a lake at Trump Doral a few years back.
