PGA kicks off Annual Meeting by helping City of San Diego play golf

SAN DIEGO – San Diego Golf Day kicked off the PGA of America’s 97th Annual Meeting on Wednesday. San Diego Interim Mayor Todd Gloria issued a proclamation declaring Nov. 20 as “San Diego Golf Day” at the Balboa Park Festival. 

Many activities were available for all ages, including SNAG, Birdieball and the PGA Sports Academy, and the Mercedes-Benz Performance Center was set up to provide swing and putting analysis. Many families ventured out to the event to enjoy the festivities, in addition to a group from the Linda Vista Boys and Girls Club. 

Thank you to the following Southern California PGA Professionals for providing lessons throughout the day at the Balboa Park Festival: Martha DuBose, Jason Hoth and Chris Lempa of Torrey Pines Golf Course; Cindy Kelliher of Colina Park Golf Course; Holly Kennedy and John Kennedy of Kennedy Golf; Heidi Richardson of Encinitas Ranch Golf Course; and Neal Patton; and Susan Roll of the Carlsbad Golf Center.

Also, thank you to the following San Diego facilities for providing free lessons and driving range specials throughout the day at their facilities: Coronado Golf Club, Cottonwood Golf Club, Mission Bay Golf Course, Morgan Run Club & Resort, Oaks North Golf Course, Rancho Bernardo Inn, Riverwalk Golf Club and Twin Oaks Golf Course.
