Last year: James Hahn won his first PGA Tour title. He made a 25-foot birdie putt on the third hole of a playoff with Dustin Johnson. Paul Casey was eliminated on the second extra hole.

 

Last week: Vaughn Taylor won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for his first victory in more than a decade. He closed with a 7-under 65 and won when Phil Mickelson missed a 5-foot birdie putt on the final hole.

 

Notes: Top-ranked Jordan Spieth and No. 2 Rory McIlroy are in the field. Spieth tied for 21st at Pebble Beach, ending his streak of top-10 finishes at seven. He won the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii last month. McIlroy is making his first PGA Tour start of the year. ... Bubba Watson won in 2014, shooting 64-64 on the weekend. ... Fred Couples is making his record 34th start in the event. He won in 1990 and 1992. ... Charl Schwartzel is coming off an eight-stroke victory Sunday in South Africa in the European Tour's Tshwane Open. ... Illinois senior Charlie Danielson shot a 68 on Monday to win the Collegiate Showcase and earn a spot in the field. ... Ben Hogan won three times at the course in a 17-month span, taking the 1947 and '48 Los Angeles Opens and '48 U.S. Open. ... The tour will be in Florida the next four weeks for the Honda Classic, World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship, Valspar Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Last year: New Zealand's Lydia Ko won the first of her five 2015 LPGA Tour titles. She beat South Korea's Amy Yang by two strokes at Royal Melbourne.

 

Last event: South Korea's Ha Na Jang won the Coates Golf Championship on Feb. 6 in Ocala, Florida, for her first LPGA Tour title. She beat Canada's Brooke Henderson by two strokes.

 

Notes: The top-ranked Ko is coming off a victory Sunday in the New Zealand Women's Open. ... Australia's Karrie Webb won in 2014 at Victoria Golf Club for her record fifth victory in the event. ... South Korea's Hyo Joo Kim won the season-opening tournament in the Bahamas. ... The Honda LPGA Thailand is next week, followed by the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore.

Last week: Charl Schwartzel ran away with the Tshwane Open in his native South Africa, shooting a 7-under 63 for an eight-stroke victory. ... Thailand's Thitiphun Chuayprakong won the Bangladesh Open by two strokes for his first Asian Tour title.

 

Notes: England's Danny Willett is coming off a victory two weeks ago in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. He tops the field along with South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen, Germany's Martin Kaymer and Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat. ... The Perth International is next week in Australia.

 

PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS

Next event: Tucson Conquistadores Classic, March 18-20, Omni Tucson National, Tucson, Arizona.

 

Last week: Bernhard Langer won the Chubb Classic in Naples, Florida, for his 26th senior title. The 58-year-old German star shot 62-66-73 for a three-stroke victory.

Next event: Chitimacha Louisiana Open, March 17-20, Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club, Broussard, Louisiana.

 

Last event: Sebastian Munoz won his hometown Club Colombia Championship on Feb. 7 for his first Web.com Tour victory. He birdied the final hole for a one-stroke victory.
