Registration open to volunteer at the 2020 Senior PGA Championship

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The PGA of America has opened volunteer registration for the 2020 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, which is returning to majestic Harbor Shores Resort, May 19-24, 2020. Approximately 1,600 volunteers are necessary to support this popular, family-friendly event, featuring golf greats like Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, John Daly and 2018 champion Paul Broadhurst. The PGA is encouraging lovers of the sport, as well as Michigan and Indiana residents, to join the fun and exhilarating atmosphere surrounding the Championship.

“Volunteers are critical to the success of the 2020 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship,” said Ryan Ogle, championship director. “Since 2012, we have been fortunate to receive overwhelming support from Benton Harbor, Saint Joseph and surrounding communities. Because of the foundational role our volunteers play, the Championship can return to Harbor Shores and support local programming that is essential to the area’s continued growth, including the Boys and Girls Club, The First Tee of Benton Harbor and local schools.”

Each volunteer will be granted “behind-the-scenes” access to the Championship and an opportunity to help execute an event that will benefit the local community. Volunteers will receive a Ralph Lauren polo shirt and jacket, additional tickets for friends and family, savings at the Championship Shop, a discounted round of golf at Harbor Shores, and more.

“This has been, by far, one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences I have had,” said David Schaffer, a four-time Championship volunteer. “The people I have had the pleasure to work alongside with to put on such a wonderful event in our community has been great. Thank you, PGA and KitchenAid, for giving us the opportunity to be part of this Championship.”

Interested volunteers will have 20 committees to choose from, each offering an exclusive experience at the Championship. Registration is open to all residents and visitors, including juniors who are at least 14 years old.
