Tiger Woods commits to Valspar Championship, Arnold Palmer Invitational

Following a strong, 12th-place showing at the Honda Classic a week ago, Tiger Woods has committed to play next week's Valspar Championship, as well as the Arnold Palmer Invitational the following week.

Woods made the announcement via his Twitter account on Friday:

This is a bit of a surprise and should be incredibly encouraging for Woods and his fans.

It was believed that Woods would certainly play the Arnold Palmer Invitational, given that he's won at Bay Hill on eight occasions.

But another two starts in succession in the build up to the Masters?

That's got to tell you that Woods is feeling good not only about his health, but also the way his game is progressing.
