Video: Justin Thomas pulls off filthy recovery shot from hazard


PGA Tour players are absolute magicians. 
 
Justin Thomas drove that home on the ninth hole at Austin Country Club on Wednesday in his Round 1 match against Luke List in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship.
 
Thomas, the 2017 PGA Champion, found a lateral hazard with his approach shot.
 
With a steep, stone wall in front of him, Thomas climbed down into the hazard. In stroke play, he probably would have taken an unplayable-lie penalty. But since this is match play and List was already in pretty close in two, Thomas had to give it a crack.

Moments later, List would miss his putt to win the hole. 
 
Thomas then capped off the brilliant escape by making his par putt to maintain a 3-up lead.
