PGA Tour players are absolute magicians.
Justin Thomas drove that home on the ninth hole at Austin Country Club on Wednesday in his Round 1 match against Luke List in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship.
Thomas, the 2017 PGA Champion, found a lateral hazard with his approach shot.
With a steep, stone wall in front of him, Thomas climbed down into the hazard. In stroke play, he probably would have taken an unplayable-lie penalty. But since this is match play and List was already in pretty close in two, Thomas had to give it a crack.

Moments later, List would miss his putt to win the hole.
Thomas then capped off the brilliant escape by making his par putt to maintain a 3-up lead.
