About Elise

Elise Warne is in her second year as Head Men’s and Women's Golf Coach at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA.

As coach of the Women’s Golf team, she has guided four all-Heart of America Athletic Conference players, one Heart Newcomer of the Year, six NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and three Heart Scholar-Athletes. A one-time Heart Coach of the Year (2023), she guided the Statesmen to the Heart title in 2023 and an appearance at the NAIA National Championship.

Her tenure as the Men’s Golf team, Warne has guided one Ping All-American, one Ping all-region player, all-Heart of America Athletic Conference player, two NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and three Heart Scholar-Athletes.

Warne returned to WPU after spending a year as the assistant coach and director of player development at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Minnesota. Warne also developed a summer junior golf academy at Legacy Golf Course and coached private lessons.

A 2019 graduate of William Penn with a degree in Exercise Science, Warne earned her Master’s of Business Leadership degree from WPU in 2021 as well. Running concurrently with her studies, she was a graduate assistant for the athletic performance department and was an assistant coach for the women’s golf team from 2019-2021. As an assistant coach, she helped with recruiting, player development, and practice.

Warne enjoyed one of the most successful careers in Statesmen women’s golf history, earning four all-Heart of America Athletic Conference laurels as a player from 2016-2019, including being named Heart Player of the Year on three occasions. An NAIA Third-Team All-American in 2019, she won nine tournament crowns (2018 Heart champion) and was a 10-time Heart Player of the Week.

With her name appearing numerous times in the school’s record books, Warne most notably owns the single-season stroke average mark and is second in career stroke average. Warne is also first on the 18-hole and a 72-hole lists, while being second on the 36-hole and a 54-hole rankings.

An NAIA long-drive competition champion, Warne was also a member of William Penn’s record-setting team scores for 18, 36, and 72 holes. She excelled in the classroom as well, being named a Scholar-Athlete twice by both the Heart and the NAIA.

Warne resides in Oskaloosa with her husband Abu Ibrahim, the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at William Penn. The couple has a son, Zayn.
