Coaching Philosophy & Community Involvement
Glenn Linder M.A. (He/They) believes that golf is more than just a sport—it is a somatic experience that fosters a deep brain-body connection. Through the practice and play of golf, individuals engage with their inner landscapes, exploring personal identity, schema, and self-perception. The game becomes a reflective tool, allowing players to externalize and evaluate their personal narratives while developing resilience and adaptability. How we approach challenges in golf mirrors how we confront obstacles in our daily lives, making the sport a powerful avenue for self-discovery and growth.
By aligning ourselves with play, we can use golf as a medium for understanding who we are and setting goals for how we aspire to be in our communities. Glenn is committed to creating an inclusive and reflective learning environment, embracing anti-racism, anti-sexism, and religious/spiritual pluralism. Passionate about engaging with multicultural communities and the LGBTQIA+ community, they foster a space where all players feel seen, valued, and empowered.
Beyond instruction, Glenn is actively involved in community service and advocacy, contributing to organizations such as Queer City Sports, Tacoma Queer Pickleball, Rainbow Center, and Parks Tacoma. Their leadership in college athletics, student mentorship, and trauma-informed care demonstrates a well-rounded commitment to both sport and personal development.
