Harvey Haddock has been teaching the game of golf since 1988. This will be his 24th season as a PGA Teaching Professional at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm. He is a native of Northern Virginia where he attended Annandale High School and won the 1981 AAA Virginia State High School Championship. Mr. Haddock is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he had a stellar collegiate career. Under the coaching of PGA Tour and Champions Tour Professional, Fred Funk , Harvey set several schools records. He is Maryland's all-time winningest golfer with 5 collegiate victories. Harvey never missed a college tournament, had a dozen top 10 finishes and was a 2-time MVP of the golf team. Additionally, Harvey played in a U.S. Junior Amateur (1981), two U.S. Amateurs (1984 and 1986) and several Ben Hogan and Nike Tour Events. He has also played in 2 PGA Tour Q Schools, a European Tour Q school, and 2 Canadian Tour Q Schools. Harvey's teaching philosophy is "keep it simple using sound fundamentals." When working on any aspect of the game, Harvey will teach you what the best players do and how to apply that to your game. Harvey's goal is to increase your enjoyment of the game by improving your technique and hopefully lower your score. Harvey's intention is to make it so understandable that you could pass the information on to someone else and improve their game. His expertise is short game and putting. Harvey continues to play consistently in local MAPGA professional events to keep his game in shape and relate his experiences to his students.
