
Jake Bader
Director of Player DevelopmentJake Bader is a second-generation PGA member with the PGA of America and an award-winning golf instructor. He has been recognized for his contributions to player development, earning the 2020 Oregon PGA Player Development Award and the 2019 Oregon PGA Youth Player Development Award. Additionally, PGA Magazine’s GRAA has named him one of the “Top 100 Growth of the Game Instructors in America” in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2021, Jake led Colwood to the NGCOA National Player Development Award. He also received GOLFTEC’s “Top Coach Award” four times.
Jake is the Director of Player Developement for the Portland Parks Golf overseeing player development for Heron Lakes GC, Rose City GC, Eastmoreland GC and Colwood where he spends most his time on the lesson tee. His teaching career began in 1996 in Washington, and he has since worked at a variety of public, private, resort and indoor facilities in Palm Desert, Portland, Lake Tahoe, and Mexico. With over 28,000 lessons taught, Jake has helped over 65 juniors advance to collegiate golf, coached 13 club champions, two course record holders, two NWAC champions, and an NWAC Athlete of the Year. He also works with local PGA professionals to refine their games.
Jake tailors his coaching to each student’s individual goals, employing the teaching methods best suited to their unique swing and learning style. Utilizing video analysis, V1 coaching software, and a SKYTRAK launch monitor, he integrates cutting-edge technology to enhance the learning experience.
