James WoodPersonal Certified Coach/Center Manager
I started my golf path as a successful junior and men's section golfer, in Aberdeen, Scotland where I played out of Portlethan Golf Club. I worked in golf retail as well as at my club in the food and beverage department.
I first realized I was interested in golf instruction after taking lessons from Paul Girven at The Kings Links Golf Center, before moving to the US in my early twenties.
As fate would have it, I changed directions into the food and beverage industry; where I thrived and was awarded for my endeavors in the craft cocktail and alcohol sales space, earning accolades from my peers in both.
As luck would have it, a pandemic upended my career, and so I had to rethink what came next.
In a little over two years, I have gone from a part time pro shop attendant, to starting and expanding a fledgling instruction company, to becoming a Center Manager with GOLFTEC.
I love this industry and I get to truly say I do what l have wanted to do since I was nine years old, when I got my first set of golf clubs
