Director of InstructionFrom the Mound to the Tee: My Journey into Golf
My journey into the golf world wasn’t exactly traditional—it started with a snowboarding accident. I was a pitcher back then, fully immersed in baseball, but the injury ended my ability to throw competitively. Faced with the sudden loss of a sport I loved, I found myself searching for something else that could fill that competitive and athletic void.
That “something” turned out to be golf.
I picked up my first club during my sophomore year of high school, not expecting it to change the course of my life. By junior year, I wasn’t just playing—I had convinced the local golf pro to start a golf team. Fully committed and used that drive I had for baseball into golf. The quiet focus, the mental grind, the precision—it all clicked. Golf gave me a new sense of purpose and direction.
That passion carried me to college, where I studied Professional Golf Management at Campbell University—a Christian university where we used to joke that "every day is hump day." Between classes, tournaments, and internships, I soaked in every aspect of the game, from instruction to operations. It wasn’t just about playing anymore—it was about building a life around the sport I had come to love.
But years in the sun—from the Northeast to the Carolinas and now Texas—began to take a toll. I have fair skin, and unfortunately, skin cancer runs deep in my family roots. Spending long days outdoors was becoming a serious concern. I needed to find a way to continue doing what I love without sacrificing my health.
That’s when I found X-Golf.
Indoor golf gave me the opportunity to teach, play, and share the game in a whole new way—without the sun exposure. It was the perfect solution: cutting-edge technology, a growing community, and a way to keep growing the game in a safe, sustainable environment.
Golf gave me a second chance after baseball. Now, through X-Golf, I get to give others a chance to discover or rediscover the game—rain or shine, season after season.
I have been immersed in the world of golf for over 20 years, honing my skills as a player and instructor. I earned my PGA Certification, which has provided me with extensive knowledge in various teaching methods, swing mechanics, course management, and player development. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with golfers from diverse backgrounds, ranging from beginners eager to learn the fundamentals to seasoned players seeking that extra edge in their game.
