Ponderosa Golf Course Development Team 13U

The Ponderosa Golf Course Junior PGA Development Team (13U) is designed to introduce young golfers to the game in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. This program focuses on building fundamental skills, course knowledge, and sportsmanship while fostering a lifelong love for golf. Players will receive guided instruction, participate in team-based activities, and develop confidence both on and off the course. It is a great step towards a more competitive focus on golf. Athletes will participate in weekly practices throughout the Summer while having a few friendly matches at Ponderosa golf Course. You will register through the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Parks District (TDRPD) and be sent an access code to sign up on the PGA Jr. League website. Ponderosa Golf Course PGA Jr. League 13U Travel Team

You will need to register both on the Jr. PGA website ($120) & register through the TDRPD website ($180). Visit or contact the TDRPD office/website to register your child. Once you register you will receive an access code for Jr. PGA registration. Ponderosa’s Travel Team is for boys and girls ages 7–13 (13 before July 31) who have previously participated in programs with the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Parks District or who have prior tournament experience. The program offers young players the opportunity to develop their skills while experiencing friendly competitive play with other local teams. The team meets on Mondays starting in June, beginning with two practices before moving into matches. Players will compete in multiple home and away matches on Monday afternoons around 4:00 PM against teams from nearby clubs, including those at Tahoe Donner, Old Greenwood, and Martis Camp. In addition to matches, participants may also take part in fun team events throughout the season. All activities are weather permitting, and players are expected to attend most practices and matches. Truckee U17 Team - Northstar

The U17 PGA Jr. League at Northstar is designed for golfers ages 13–18 who are looking to gain competition experience in a fun, inclusive team environment. This program is a great fit for athletes who already have some golf experience and are motivated to compete and take their game to the next level. We follow the traditional PGA Jr. League 2-person scramble format, creating a supportive and team-oriented approach to competition. Players will compete in matches against teams from Tahoe City, Tahoe Donner, and Incline Village, with travel to each course throughout the season. Schedule: We will start in June the week of the 8th or 15th - TBD. We will communicate a more detailed schedule and start date as we get closer to the season. It is in the works with the other teams. Matches are primarily held on Mondays in the afternoon (3pm or later) Additional team practice and play days will be scheduled on select Tuesdays Fees: PGA Jr. League Registration ($120): Paid here directly to the PGA to secure your spot. Includes Game Changer membership and two personalized team jerseys (new styles and colors this year). Coaching Fee ($200): Paid at the start of the season and covers team coaching and program organization. We also strongly encourage participation in the Truckee-Tahoe Junior Golf Tour (TTJGT), which offers more competitive individual 9- and 18-hole events. These tournaments are a great complement to team play and provide valuable tournament experience for athletes looking to continue progressing. Please reach out with any questions. 30 minutes is all we need! This will cover full swing lesson at the driving range. Note, this lesson will start 5 min past the scheduled time but arrive on time to get your body stretched and maybe hit a few golf balls.

This is a 1 hour lesson, we will go over your game and discuss where we can see improvement. We can work on full swing, short game, club selection, mental game and more.

9-Hole Playing Lesson

If you are looking to lower your scores and have more fun, it is time to get on the golf course with me and show me your true golf game. You will play 9 holes so I can learn your game and create the most effective plan to ensure you achieve your golfing goals.
