2026 CANYON LAKES GC SUMMER PGA JR LEAGUE PROGRAM
The PGA Jr League Program at Canyon Lakes GC encompasses all facets of the game of golf. Juniors can be beginners, intermediate players, or accomplished tournament players. Owning at least a couple of clubs is required to be able to participate, but full sets for beginners is not a necessity. Each player will learn how to build a swing, learn how to develop a short game, and each will be challenged to learn how to self diagnose and fix those swings or parts of the game as they move through the program and get older and more understanding of said program. They will learn neutral fundamentals by doing drills and steps to develop proper muscle memory, something most golfers truly never learn on their own, thus leading to bad habits. Overall, it is a system they will learn that is easily monitored in class by the instructor(s), fellow students, or parents (once understood themselves). Outside of just learning the game, this program teaches each player with serious and, or relaxed instruction (based on the student and their mental and physical skill set), fun games, and overall encouragement to take their games towards tournament level play as they improve. For tournament level players, rules quizzes are normally handed out, thus aiding in the players' understanding of the many rules involved in tournament play. Once the deadline has passed, kits will be ordered and the Summary of Events will be emailed to all of the parents. More information will be included in those Summary of Events. First and foremost, this program is invite only. You may contact Cory Brooks at cbrooks@pga.com to get an Access Code, yet if your junior has not done the program before, it is not a guarantee. Once eligible, it is advised that you sign up immediately with the given ACCESS CODE and indicate by email to Cory which of the following classes your junior can attend. There will be 6, maybe 7 classes offered each week. Please prioritize them in order of 1-7, 1 being easiest to attend, 7 being cannot attend. Wednesdays- 12-1:30pm, 2-3:30pm, 4-5:30pm Thursdays- 12-1:30pm, 2-3:30pm, 4-5:30pm, (maybe) 6-7:30pm On Course Play Wednesdays will roughly be June 24, July 1,8,15,22,29, and Aug 12th. Some juniors will not be eligible to play on these days. Juniors will be compensated with Gift Cards to Golf Universe for future lessons or equipment. There will be some Saturdays for make up days and for extra instruction. Those dates will roughly be June 27, July 28, and Aug 8. There will be a Summer Finale that will be discussed later; likely Thursday August 20th in the evening.
