Masters 2019: The toughest holes for Tiger Woods at Augusta

Tiger Woods has finished in the Top 10 of the Masters 13 times in the 20 years that he has played, but even he hasn’t come close to mastering Augusta.

Heading into the 2019 tournament, Tiger is a combined +17 on the par-3 fourth hole and the opening par 4 at Augusta, making those his worst holes on the course.

In the 82 rounds he’s played, Tiger has only birdied No. 4 eight times. He’s shot par 50 times, bogeyed 23 times, and carded a double bogey once.

PLAYERS: A look at the unofficial field list for the 2019 Masters

In the four years where Tiger won the Masters, his performance on No. 4 has been much better than usual. Those years, Tiger averaged 3 strokes on the fourth, as opposed to a lifetime average of 3.22 strokes:

Year Score
CAREER 3.22
1997 3.25
2001 2.75
2002 3
2005 3

On the flip side, The Par-5 13th is Tiger’s best hole at Augusta: He’s a combined 50 strokes under par there, thanks to nabbing four eagles and 48 birdies, and only going over par six times.
