Brooks Koepka, Charl Schwartzel tie PGA Championship record with 63 rounds

Brooks Koepka tied history at the 100th PGA Championship. He matched the record for the best round in Championship history with his 63 in the second round at Bellerive Country Club.

Shortly after, Charl Schwartzel joined him in the history books with a 63 of his own.

Koepka, who's won back-to-back U.S. Open Championships, is now 8-under for the tournament thanks to his 7-under round. Koepka didn't bogey on Friday, making seven birdies to tie the Championship record.

Schwartzel, who entered Round 2 at even par, birdied eight holes on the day, including a run of three in a row on holes 10, 11, and 12. His only blemish was a bogey on the par-3 No. 6. 

Koepka and Schwartzel's 63 tie the record that was first set by Bruce Crampton in the second round of the 1975 PGA Championship at Firestone.

Kevin Kisner almost joined Koepka at 63. Kisner shot a 64 to reach 9-under for the Championship. Both trail leader Gary Woodland, who's at 10-under.
