5 golf hats to add to your collection this summer

Now that we're entering the dog days of summer, it's important to make sure that you have all the hats you need for the golf course. Some hats favor practicality, others favor fashion and some are more comical.

Here are five hats you should consider adding to your collection.

Jack Nicklaus Majors Hat

Why we like it: Hey, it's the Golden Bear. This hat is available in navy, black, red, green and yellow if you want to channel your inner Bear on the golf course. The hat has an adjustable velcro strap on the back, as well as a loop grab. That "4" on the side represents the number of majors in the season. You can view the full Jack Nicklaus hat collection here.

Men's Ryder Cup classic

Why we like it: This one never goes out of style. Can't you picture Phil Mickelson or Jordan Spieth wearing that? You can purchase it here.

Hole-in-One Golf Hat

Why we like it: OK, it's a gag gift, but we like this one. Complete with a turf green and replica ball, this comical beret is a good reminder that golf is fun. Let us know if you wear this one to the course, really. Come to think of it, this is pefect if you plan to attend the Ryder Cup. You can purchase one here.

147th Open Championship Hat

Why we like it: "Car-nasty" is a classic Open Championship course and this hat has that classic Open logo. The Open Championship returns to Carnoustie for the eighth time, so celebrate the occasion with a special edition hat. You can find the it here.

The Carl Spackler Bucket Hat

Why we love it: Who doesn't love the movie Caddyshack? Actually, don't answer that because everyone should unanimously approve of the movie. You can't beat a Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) inspired bucket hat that will have you keeping gophers off the golf course and dreaming of your big break to earn a spot on the PGA Tour. You can fully embrace Bill Murray's character here.
