Florida course has four holes-in-one in the same tournament

NAPLES, Fla. -- Officially, Friday was the Wildcat Run Men's Invitational. Unofficially, it was hole-in-one day at the Estero club.

Four different golfers made holes-in-one during the tournament, with three of them coming on the same hole. None of the four were playing in the same group.

"It's pretty crazy with four in the same day," Wildcat Run head professional Pete Beringer said. " ... One of the members texted me that there had been one. We heard that there was another. Then we heard another, and then we announced it, and the fourth one, they didn't even tell us. It was pretty amazing when you think about it."

Terry Jungerberg, a guest, made a hole-in-one from 132 yards with an 8-iron on No. 6. Jim Cangiano, a member, did it on the same hole, with an 8-iron from 143 yards. Keith Masser made his from 120 yards on No. 11 with an 8-iron, and Roger Jaeger aced No. 6 from 132 yards with a 9-wood. Masser and Jaeger also were guests.

Two of the aces were made during the third nine-hole match on the sixth hole at the Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. According to the National Hole-In-One Registry, the odds of two players acing the same hole are 17 million to one. The remaining aces were made during the fourth nine-hole match on the sixth and 11th holes.
