Justin Thomas breaks Johnny Miller’s record for lowest single-round score in U.S. Open history

Have a day, Justin Thomas.

Early in his moving day round, Thomas nearly broke the internet with this crazy roller coaster putt:

But there was much, much more to come. Thomas shot 9-under par at Erin Hills on Saturday, breaking Johnny Miller’s record for lowest single-round score in relation to par in U.S. Open history. Miller finished 8-under all the way back in 1973 at Oakmont.

Thomas, pink pants and all, was just brilliant Saturday. Putts like these were a common occurrence:

We’ll see if Thomas can carry this momentum into Sunday, but the fact remains: it was a record-breaking weekend for him regardless.
