Matt Kuchar wins Fiji International by 4 shots

SUVA, Australia — American Matt Kuchar shot a second-straight three-under 69 on Sunday to ease to a four-stroke victory over Australia's Aron Price at the Fiji International.

World No. 16 Kuchar had a total of 4-under 284 and was never further back than second place at the Natadolo Bay Golf Club, where the field was confronted with strong wind gusts over the opening two days.

Kuchar, with father Peter as caddie, had five birdies and one bogey in a composed final round in which he eased away from Price who trailed by two shots overnight and finished with a 71.

Local favorite Vijay Singh shot a course record 65 to continue his rise after a first round 78 to claim a share of third place with New Zealander Ryan Fox and Australian Nick Cullen.

"It was a great week," Kuchar said. "It was so challenging on Thursday and Friday.

"I felt I was surviving but played some really steady, good golf and that was a real difference — I got off to a start where most people got beat up.

"I was able to play it two-over par for the first 36 and had a really steady, nice solid weekend."
