PGA President Richerson Reflects on 9/11

Published on

Today as we all reflect and remember the tragedy of September 11th, we must take the time to honor those who lost their lives. Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen. We must also recognize the military service of those who defend our country, and all the first responders who are true heros for the work they do on a daily basis, as our freedom is not free.
As an Association, we also want to let our nation's heroes know that we are here to support them through programs like PGA HOPE and our partnership with Folds of Honor as well as the many other programs across the country put on by our 28,000 PGA Professionals.
I’m very proud of the amazing work being done by PGA Members and staff in honoring our nation’s veterans through these programs. Programs that are improving the lives of veterans and, in many cases, saving their lives through the game of golf.
If you are not currently involved in the PGA HOPE program or Folds of Honor events I encourage you to find out more. They are a great way to give back and honor those that have given so much to our country.
God Bless,
Jim Richerson, PGA
PGA of America President
