Gary Woodland put together a top-8 finish at the Honda Classic over the weekend, further solidifying his position in the battle for Ryder Cup USA qualifying spots.
Woodland jumped three spots to No. 3, moving ahead of last week’s winner Patrick Reed, just behind Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson.
Xander Schauffele (5th), Webb Simpson (6th), Justin Thomas (7th) and Tiger Woods (8th) round out the players currently in the automatic qualifying spots.
The Ryder Cup takes place from Sept. 25-27 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI. Golfers vying for a spot on the U.S. Team will have the opportunity to earn points each week on the PGA Tour. Bonus points are available during the major championships, The Players and the WGC Events.
