The men's golf competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is set to get underway this week for only the third time since it made its debut in 1900.
The group of 60 golfers from 42 countries will compete in four days of stroke play at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Kasahata, Saitama, Japan from July 28th to August 1st. The women’s competition will take place August 3-6 at the same location.
Representing Team USA on the men's side will be Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Reed. Team USA on the women's side will be 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Champion Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang, Lexi Thompson and Jessica Korda.
The United States is the only country to have had four players qualify. Other notable players in the fields include 2012 and 2014 PGA Champion Rory McIlroy representing Team Ireland, 2020 PGA Runner-Up Paul Casey representing Team Great Britain, 2013-2015 KPMG Women's PGA Champion Inbee Park and 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Champion Kim Sei-young both representing Team Korea
