PGA Jr. League: Players Get the Tour Experience at the Nebraska PGA Section Championship
Participants at the PGA Jr. League Nebraska Section Championships warm up next to players on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The Nebraska PGA Jr. League Section Championship was contested at The Club at Indian Creek this weekend in Omaha alongside the Korn Ferry Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship.
Four 13U and two 17U teams from across the Nebraska Section PGA gathered for a special day that included warming up next to the Korn Ferry Tour Professionals and competing on the same golf course while the KFT Professionals battled for their PGA Tour Cards.
The season began with more than 60 teams and 1,400 juniors and two teams punched their tickets to the regional event in Wisconsin this past Saturday.
After the completion of Saturday’s play, the All-Star teams advancing to the regional event in Wisconsin were: Eastern Nebraska (101) in the 13U division and The Ridge Golf Club (70) in the 17U division. The highlight of the day came on the last putt on No. 9 green from Eastern Nebraska’s Harper Kalin with a 60+ foot bomb that lit up the crowd.
The two teams will advance to play in the PGA Jr. League Regionals at Glen Erin Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin in September.
