The PGA of America was named today as a 2021 FutureEdge 50 Award honoree.
Presented by IDG’s CIO, the award recognizes organizations pushing the edge with new technologies to advance their business for the future through simplification, modernization, and security, while using the most contemporary methodologies and technologies.
“This year’s class of FutureEdge winners demonstrated enormous innovation, creativity and resilience as they grappled to advance their businesses during a challenging 2020,” said Anne McCrory, Group VP, Customer Experience & Operations, IDG Communications, Inc. and the FutureEdge 50 Awards chair. “We are honored to showcase their initiatives and recognize the teams that made them happen, as they create a future edge for their organizations through technology.”
The PGA of America is now entirely cloud native, with no on-prem systems or traditional corporate network. This enables a more collaborative and productive workforce. Rather than maintaining traditional IT systems, the company’s technology investments are now focused on creating value for PGA Members and growing the game of golf.
“This is a triumph of culture and first principles,” said Kevin J. Scott, Head of Technology for the PGA of America. “The teams broke down barriers by asking ‘why’ and looking for ways to get better every day. The constant drive to improve, take risks, and understand things clearly has taken the PGA of America to new levels of productivity and security.”
The award will be presented during the virtual 2021 Future of Work Summit, Sept. 21-23.
